The netlabel will release soon the compilation of old tracks by Carbone & Diamants… La Fresto is trying to remaster them. A very hard work ! We are planning a reworked album of these tracks after the release of the compilation with a contemporary touch.

There is just two songs in french (No end – No beginning and Alan’s Trip). The art cover is a reworked paint by the artist with letters deliberately cut. That is the reason of this album : there is no end because there was no beginning… “A spiral“, says La Fresto !
Alan Tenderfoot has written the words of the song Alan’s Trip, like a report of a trip in United States of America.

[O&G_043] La Fresto – Never Everglades ep. This is a basic rock track by La Fresto, in approximate english like he assumes to say. This represents a real turning point in his discography. That’s also the reason why it was difficult to choose the cover art. There is three artworks. The first is a declination of the original work by Nokydesign, the second’s a standard portrait of the artist and the last, this one, is a paint by La Fresto.
About the songs… Never Everglades is an own tribute to the beat literature. The summer version of We Are Falling is an extract of the album session, recorded just after the first version that we can hear on Robots Wouldn’t Go To Be Sad ep. Let Your Phone Have No Voice is the demo version of the album track Let Your Phone Have An Opinion. And, Les Falaises is a french song that talking about fake suicide, recorded at the beginning of the album session.

I Wanna Be Loved By You is a reinterpretation of the divine version by the goddess Marilyn Monroe. Outre-Tombe is a rerecorded version of an old track from the 1996′s album Au Risque, Péril & Fortune by La Fresto himself. The two other tracks are unreleased songs from the No end – No beginning session.

[O&G_040] Old Fresto Volume 3. This is the third compilation of the early works by La Fresto (1996 – 2008). Outre-Tombe is an extract of Au Risque, Péril & Fortune (La Prise de Tête, 1996). Bon Dernier, L’automne, Je suis un peu souffrant, La Pluie j’te jure, Fin de Série and Des Gens Qui En Demandent Encore are unreleased demos from the Lithium album Ça Va Mieux, Non ? (Lithium, 1998-2003). La Lune Blanche, Sapin Couché Par Le Vent and La Petite Mer are taken from a special session recorded in 2007. Dandy Nonchalant is an extract from Punkabstrait ep (La Prise de Tête, 1998). Une Fleur d’eau and Gary Cooper are recorded in 2004, songs writed first for Charlotte Gainsbourg (but we don’t know if she has heard). King Of Cool and Mister Jakelin are the first works by the electropop group The Choral Top with Billie Machine (2005).
It’s really difficult to have a complete discography of La Fresto. We know he’s playing keyboards and drums since 1986 and his first tapes were recorded in 1989 with the project Carbone & Diamants. In 1990, he founded The Louis Certal’s Band (La Bergère was recorded at this early time)…

Christian Man : This was the repeat performance of my winning Laptop Battle performance at the electro-music 2009 festival. Howard joined me with some G2 church organ lyrics and we closed out the festival with the performance.
Trust is the chosen work of artist Audiodef who interestingly has a hearing limitation of some sort. Audiodef’s voice coach has helped create the fascinating ”Talking Heads” style vocals of this song. The music is also reminiscent of the Talking Heads, so it’s like a trip down memory lane to hear this song.
The Singing Alchemist is the work of artist Carlo Serafini. Carlo is an editor at electro-music.com’s forum and produces beautiful immersive pieces. He works with the Chameleon among other instruments in many of his recent songs.
Future Games : the voice of Rainshadow captures us and takes us away on a lilting mysterious journey of music, very nice song.
If I Had the Power : Lyrics by Danno Gee Ray (Daniel Gray) spoken by Les Hall and music by Les Hall using a Boolean Sequenced Karplus Strong array coded in ChucK. It’s a positive song about wishful thinking and what we would do given tremendous power.
Rescue Mission : I wrote this song 20 minutes after my Father died. Rainshadow was kind enough to do the vocals flawlessly and I added music to create the song. Basically it’s a song about Heaven invading Hell to save souls at the end of time. I don’t necessarily believe in the story that is told, so I present it for art’s sake – just something different to enjoy.
This Too Shall Pass is a song about human suffering throughout history and man’s inhumanity to man. Written and performed by Les Hall, the song is sad yet powerful in a way.
The Phoenix has music by JovianPyx and lyrics by Les Hall written shortly after the electro-music 2009 festival. It tells of my great suffering and later emergence to a blissful, happy state through music.
deepgrave min og dog is a very irreverent song in the style of our friend Toad.
toad008 is a follow-up instrumental after deepgrave min go dog.

We can hear La Fresto sing on Tout au bout du chemin… This album is considered like a new beginning. But, the forthcoming LP, No end – No beginning (2011), should be a dark answer to the faith of a Fresto like a pop singer !
La Fresto said in 2010 : “After this one, there’ll be another one and i’ll change my name… The future is now ! Isn’t it ?“

It’s like an musical essai with pauses and violence. Pictures were shooted in Millau, France. We can see old clocks or prehistorical mechanics… Very strange !

[O&G_025] La Fresto – La Vieille Dame & Les Clés. The common point of the three eps by La Fresto issued in 2008 is the light on the sleeve. Sunlight and artificial light. The version of Moscow By Plane is stereo version. With the PRVSR ep, there was a mono-one-headphone version of the track. That was a default made by La Fresto himself. But he thought that was OK and life is sometimes made by mistakes and surprises. This third ep is the last extract of the unreleased album Q.

This time was like a storm in his mind. That was the time he bought some early keyboards too. This first ep issued in 2008 was recorded with latpop and a Jen 61-P. A second and third eps were issued in 2008 and that was all. The ‘Q‘ album was broken and replaced by ‘Quelques mois d’attente, certainement‘ in 2010 !

[O&G_017] Choral Top – The Birdy Things. What an electrofunslash LP ! This curious band has recorded one album and played it one time on stage, at Poitiers, France. Composed by Senthi Indy Shenti and Billie Machine, these electropop songs are like sugar on the tongue. The duo has made a hiatus after 2008 and considered doing a second LP in 2020 !
Charly Wiski has written a short text in french (January 2nd, 2008) :
“Choral Top, c’est l’histoire d’une rencontre entre Billie Machine et l’Indien Senthi Indy Shenty. Tous deux vivent à Londres à la fin du 20e siècle et se croisent un soir de brouillard dans un rade miteux de la capitale britannique. Ils torchent des bières et se trouvent des points communs indestructibles. Puis, la vie fait son office. Ils se séparent dans les rues étroites de la City.
Ils se retrouvent étrangement en France en 2002, dans la même ville qui plus est, Poitiers. Ils décident de fonder Choral Top et de se la péter un maximum… Le problème, c’est que La Fresto vient mettre son grain de sel et le premier album de cette étonnante collaboration en subira forcément les conséquences. En effet, une première mouture de The Birdy Things est prête dès la fin de l’année 2004, mais le producteur Fresto en décidera autrement. « On peut faire beaucoup mieux ! » Résultat, l’album est annoncé début 2006 sur Off&Green, puis début 2007, enfin en décembre de la même année. The Birdy Things paraît finalement en ce début 2008 ! Aucune amertume car il est vrai que l’album a énormément évolué entre sa première restitution et celle que nous vous proposons aujourd’hui.
En 2005 et 2006, le groupe s’est agrandi. Jamie Joe Bikini, Alan Tenderfoot ainsi que Tokyo Ramucho rejoignent rangs. L’affaire a vécu et Choral Top manquait de ne pas se relever. Pourtant, c’était sans compter sur la fougue incroyable de la chanteuse du combo. Billie Machine cadrait ses troupes et Choral Top ne devait plus en finir d’avancer.
En 2007, le groupe s’agrandit. Alan Tenderfoot poursuit l’aventure et arrive Ange Veerlüger. Ce dernier n’a pas participé à l’écriture du premier album, mais il est sur scène et fait briller sa guitare. Choral Top arrive à ce point tant redouté de non retour. The Birdy Things sort aujourd’hui sur Off&Green et le deuxième album est en cours d’enregistrement. Déjà ! Oui !
The Birdy Things agit comme une mixture pop et électronique, saupoudrée d’éléments totalement punks et d’improvisations parfois surprenantes. Choral Top ne sera jamais un groupe à tubes. Ce n’est pas sa vocation. Pourtant, on a surpris des gens danser sur Moka_Moka, We Love Lalalas ou sur le softly trash Yellow McEnroe. Ce n’est pas incompatible non plus.
Ce premier album, c’est plus de quatre années de travail. Des sessions alcoolisées, des séances de mastering à n’en plus finir. The Birdy Things, c’est la genèse d’une entité. Nous le croyons d’autant plus que le deuxième album est sur les rails. University succédera à The Birdy Things !
Toujours à la limite du politiquement correct, les textes frôlent quand même le n’importe quoi qu’on aime tant chez les situationnistes, les cubistes, les surréalistes… Senthi Indy Shenti s’explique à ce sujet : « La vie de tous les jours ? On n’en comprend rien, sauf le train-train quotidien ! On veut juste rendre un peu plus absurde cette constatation ! Ce qui est ridicule doit devenir absurde. Cependant, il n’y a pas de règles définies dans notre musique. Nous faisons ce que nous avons envie de faire. Sans nous poser trop de questions ! Nous n’avons pas de plan de route ! » Billie Machine de compléter : « On ne sait pas ce qu’on fait vraiment, mais c’est inscrit en nous ! »
Ce premier album est totalement ouvert quant aux thèmes abordés : schizophrénie, drague, plans foireux, fantasmes, chroniques désabusées, absurde érigé en règle de vie…
La production finale de La Fresto n’a rien à voir avec les albums produits par le transfuge du label Lithium. La couleur est électronique, mais pas seulement. Les guitares brillent, les thèmes de basse sont omniprésents et clinquants. Les cordes ont leurs mots à dire ! Les effets virevoltent entre années 60 et 90. Les rythmiques sont à la fois robotiques et baignées d’analogique pas toujours assumé ! En d’autres termes, The Birdy Things est quasiment un essai ! De l’expérimental, non quand même pas ! ! ! Mais, un côté punk, assurément !”

Ange Veerlüger a rejoint Off& Green en ce début d’année 2010 avec Dirty Town, un album sensible et particulièrement touchant. Amoureux des instruments traditionnels mais aussi guitariste, l’Angevin est un personnage attachant, lunaire. Son entrée chez nous n’est pas un coup d’épée dans l’eau, il prépare bien d’autres surprises. Interview.

1. “Dirty Town” est ta toute première référence musicale. Peux-tu nous éclairer sur ton parcours, ce qui t’a poussé à écrire ce premier album ?
Un coup de pied au cul d’un ami d’enfance !
Sérieusement, aussi loin que je me souvienne, j’ai toujours écrit, griffonné des trucs, débuté des histoires, des chansons, sans ne jamais rien finir. Il était temps que cela cesse !, ou plutôt commence…
2. Tu joues de plusieurs instruments, pas seulement de la guitare. D’où te vient cet intérêt pour ces instruments parfois exotiques ?
J’ai toujours eu le goût du voyage sans jamais avoir osé l’assouvir. Les sonorités aussi différentes de l’harmonium, du concertina, de l’ukulele, de la sanza… me transportent , immobile, dans autant de continents différents. Cela me permet aussi de relier ma musique à la terre tout en me projetant ailleurs.
Mais il est vrai aussi que j’envisage un retour à la guitare de manière très sérieuse.

3. Que cherches-tu à raconter dans “Dirty Town” ?
La campagne, les petits villages sont pour moi des lieux extraordinaires où le trivial côtoie l’étrange. Tout peut s’y passer même s’il la plupart du temps il ne s’y passe rien !
Dirty Town contient un peu tout cela. Je cherchais aussi à créer des ambiances « naturelles », sans paroles, qui, petit à petit se transforment en surnaturelles. Tantôt bienveillantes, tantôt inquiétantes.

4. Comment envisages-tu la suite ? De nouveaux projets ?
J’ai dans l’idée de conclure prochainement un mini-ep, sorte d’exercice de style imbécile où je compte faire la part belle à un instru oublié.
Je m’attache aussi actuellement à reprendre la guitare et une simple boîte à rythmes en vue d’un véritable album. Sans doute plus rock, plus folk et plus electro. J’aimerais me replonger dans les ambiances assez contrastées, à la Frusciante, un guitariste que j’affectionne particulièrement, surtout lorsqu’il joue en solo. J’aime le contraste des BAR froides et des instruments analogiques, plus organiques.

5. On a pu lire que tu travaillais avec La Fresto dans le cadre d’un duo, peux-tu nous en dire plus ?
Ca c’est du top secret. J’voudrais pas qu’un contrat soit lancé sur ma tête !
Le duo est bien avancé, lancé. On a trouvé un équilibre dans le processus créatif qui devrait nous permettre d’aboutir à quelque chose de concret dans le courant 2011. On est un peu tributaire de nos agendas mais tout arrive à qui sait attendre.
Disons que pour une première, un concept-album est en cours.
Evidemment, je m’occupe essentiellement des guitares et Fresto de la prog et du chant, mais il n’est pas dit qu’il ne gratouille pas et que je n’écrive pas un peu ! On ne s’est pas fixé de règles strictes. Le projet est ouvert aux limites de nos possibilités.

6. Quelles sont tes méthodes de travail ?
Je n’ai pas vraiment de méthode. Tout dépend de ce qu’il me vient à l’esprit.
Un morceau peut débuter par quelques fredonnements enregistrés à la va-vite sur mon portable. Parfois j’écris sur une partition. Le plus souvent, c’est à la guitare que me viennent les musiques. Le texte est souvent écrit en même temps ou bien avant même la musique.
J’aime aussi me fixer des contraintes, me dire, là, je vais composer un truc à trois temps et m’y tenir.

7. Tes influences musicales jouent-elles un rôle important dans le processus de création, pour toi ?
Et bien, je n’en sais rien. Ma musique est très éloignée jusqu’à présent de ce que j’écoute. Donc je pourrais conclure par la négative.
J’ai des goûts extrêmement éclectiques. J’affectionne particulièrement « La Jeune fille et la Mort » de Schubert, Les riffs acides de Lee Ravalo, l’electro-folk des Bat for Lashes, le jeu de Mark Knopfler, les White Stripes, quelques-uns de la nouvelle chanson française comme on dit (Biolay, Arthur H). J’aurais du mal à dresser une liste complète.

Le Microcosme : Interview 2010
Le Microcosme est un drôle d’énergumène comme on en croise très rarement. On l’a rencontré pour la première fois en 2005, au détour d’un concert. On a alors découvert un univers assez incroyable, riche et immense de talents. Bassiste, guitariste, programmeur, conceptmaker… On l’a même vu jouer de l’harmonica, c’est dire la complexité du personnage, surtout sa polyvalence. Son histoire est loin d’être terminée. Interview.
Le Microcosme en pleine séance de brainstorming...
1. Ça fait un certain temps qu’on n’a plus de nouvelles de toi. Pourtant, on sait que tu es toujours très actif. Peux-tu nous en dire un peu plus ? Quels sont tes projets actuels, tes découvertes, tes aspirations ?
Je ne donne plus de nouvelles depuis quelques temps c’est vrai. Le site Internet du Microcosme n’a pas bougé depuis plus de 2 ans. J’ai volontairement stoppé les projets en cours. Je m’occupe surtout de ma fille qui vient d’avoir trois ans et c’est fascinant. Il faut dire aussi que Le Microcosme est sorti du néant et a évolué de façon rapide, à partir de 2004 notamment. D’un projet musical très intime (quelques petites chansons bricolées), il s’est transformé en une plateforme d’échange qui a accueilli de nombreux artistes (et pas des moindres). A un moment j’ai eu du mal à suivre, c’est dire. On me proposait des choses intéressantes, j’avais aussi des idées à mettre en forme, je bougeais pas mal, puis j’ai du déménager, bref… Dernièrement, j’ai eu quelques soucis avec un ordinateur récalcitrant et je me suis posé beaucoup de questions… sur le fait d’en acheter un nouveau, sur le fait même d’être connecté à Internet… J’ai pensé un instant faire de la musique en m’installant en haut de ma rue (très passante) pour y jouer simplement de la guitare… Mais à cette étape de ma réflexion, il faisait moins 10° dehors. L’exercice aurait donc été périlleux, et avec ma santé fragile… J’ai donc pas mal « débranché », pris du recul. Mes découvertes ont été surtout littéraires. J’ai beaucoup lu sur l’histoire de la musique, des instruments, et aussi sur le mouvement Noir américain. Je continue d’ailleurs, je comble mes (énormes) lacunes. Mes aspirations sont encore un peu floues. Le moment de m’y remettre vraiment n’est pas là. Je ne le sens pas proche. J’ai envie de mener un projet à terme, jusque sur scène (j’en ai déjà parlé, mais plus pour me motiver), rien de concret. On verra. Je joue toujours, presque tous les jours d’ailleurs, d’un instrument ou d’un autre. Quelques fois j’enregistre une idée, mais très rarement.
2. On a entendu dire que tu suivais de très près un groupe que tu comptes produire prochainement. Peux-tu nous éclairer à ce sujet ?
Tu es bien informé, ma boîte mail serait donc sous surveillance ? J’ai en effet décidé de m’occuper du projet « Pony Ride Rocker », une formation musicale très énigmatique, qui fait malheureusement l’objet de poursuites judiciaires outre atlantique (une histoire incroyable)… Je vais me rendre début juin dans le sud des Etats-Unis pour y travailler. J’y vais muni d’un crayon, d’un cahier à spirale et de quoi enregistrer un minimum (à poil donc). Je ne sais pas ce que ça va donner… Je ne veux pas trop disserter sur le sujet… Mais ça fait bizarre de parler de ça - le mec qui va aux states pour faire de la zic… ouah, cool ! J’en reviens pas de me la péter autant.

3. As-tu une méthode de travail particulière ?
Pas vraiment, pour les collaborations en tout cas. Tout se passe au fil des rencontres. J’aime bien écouter et m’adapter. Je préfère soumettre mes idées, les proposer à la discussion plutôt que de calquer une quelconque méthode préétablie. Pour les projets en solo (comme Sinmalo par exemple), j’ai surtout privilégié la spontanéité, la rapidité et la réactivité. Aujourd’hui j’ai plus envie de prendre mon temps, de peaufiner les arrangements, les prises de sons, le mixage. Je suis conscient aussi qu’il m’est difficile de tout cumuler, tout seul, et j’espère bien me faire aider dans le futur. Et je dois faire l’effort de noter, de capter mes idées pour les retravailler ensuite. Mais voilà, je suis paresseux, et je me rends compte que j’aurais pu peut-être mettre en ligne une bonne centaine de chansons si j’avais pris des notes, ou enregistré des idées sur le moment… car le lendemain, trop tard, elles sont oubliées ou déformées…

4. Dans ta bio, tu fais référence à plusieurs studios dans lesquels tu as travaillé depuis plus de dix ans. Qu’en est-il du nouveau dans lequel tu “sévis” dorénavant ?
Le « nouveau » studio est terminé et à la mesure de mon « potentiel technique », c’est à dire absolument pas « high-tech » et encore moins couteux. Il s’agit en fait d’une évolution des précédents. Il est basé dans l’Aube, dans une maison de ville, sous les combles. Mais bon, je risque encore de déménager bientôt… Le contenu quant à lui, ne changera pas. Ça m’a pris beaucoup de temps (bientôt 15 ans) pour le constituer et pouvoir travailler sans presque manquer de rien. C’est quasiment un luxe… Aujourd’hui, je dirai qu’il lui manque une certaine patine. Y’a plus qu’à …

5. Comment as-tu vécu la sortie du projet Sinmalo chez Off&Green ?
Ce projet est sorti au moment où ma vie personnelle changeait complètement. Aujourd’hui, je le vois donc comme une fin de cycle, mais sur l’instant, j’étais excité, content, fier d’être allé au bout… et de la richesse de tous ces échanges avec Laurent. Avec Off&Green, dès que je peux, je recommence, s’ils sont partant (of course). Et (scoop) je leur proposerai en exclusivité le résultat de mes travaux sur le projet « Pony Ride Rocker ».
6. Pour finir, tes références musicales influencent-elles tes créations ?
Oui, bien sur, et non, pas tout le temps… A vrai dire, j’ai du mal à définir ce qui influence vraiment mes créations. C’est tellement bien enfoui que je ne cherche pas trop à gratter… par peur d’y trouver quelques vieux fantômes.

La sortie du quatrième album de La Fresto est un non-événement, comme Internet en réserve de plus en plus. Pourtant, ce nouvel essai existe et il pousse un peu plus loin les limites précédentes (abordées dans Sept, paru en 2006 sur Off&Green). Interview.
La Fresto avec quelques cheveux, comme quoi...
1. On a senti, juste après la sortie de “Sept” que l’histoire La Fresto, telle qu’elle existe depuis 1992, était à un tournant. Peux-tu nous en dire plus ?
“Sept” a représenté pour moi un exemple de l’écriture jouissive. Je m’étais fixé des contraintes (temps, thèmes, styles) et l’objectif premier était de faire en sorte que ce soit le dernier album écrit de ce genre-là, celui qui fermait la parenthèse entamée avec “Ça va mieux, non ?” paru chez Lithium en 2003. Évidemment, cela ne voulait pas dire que je n’allais pas continuer ensuite, mais je désirais plus que tout passer à autre chose, écrire des chansons joyeuses, des rythmes dansants. En fait, je me disais que mettre en place un pont entre ce projet personnel et les Crisding Bladading devait être ma solution. L’expérience me dit aujourd’hui que ça ne se passe pas toujours comme on le pense. Dès 2007, j’ai commencé à écrire des morceaux plus légers, avec des thèmes beaucoup moins personnels. Et je me suis emmerdé, sincèrement. Ce n’était pas moi alors que j’étais censé n’écrire que pour moi à cette époque. Du coup, en 2008, j’ai fait machine arrière. J’ai arrêté de jouer au détaché et c’est là que “Quelques mois d’attente, certainement” a pris le dessus. Je revenais à ce que je fais depuis le départ, une musique intuitive et des textes à la volée, empreints de quotidien. Le tournant dans l’histoire “La Fresto” n’a duré que six mois. Pas facile de révolutionner sa propre approche de la création. Maintenant, je me dis que si je veux changer de concept, j’ai les Crisding ou Moduline pour ça…
2. Du coup, “Quelques mois d’attente, certainement” paraît plus apaisé que le précédent. Serait-ce la sagesse après la poids des dérives aperçu sur les trois premiers albums ?
La sagesse ? Ça, je ne suis pas sûr. Je suis plus calme que j’ai été, c’est certain. Je crois quand même qu’il y a encore beaucoup de folie dans ce nouvel album. C’est pas aussi explicite qu’avant, peut-être, mais c’est là. Je ne me suis pas fixé de contraintes cette fois, sauf de quasiment tout balayer des essais écrits en 2006 et 2008. J’ai voulu revenir à quelque chose de plus simple, de plus organique, de moins trituré.
3. L’album est en téléchargement payant (3 €) sur ton site Bandcamp. N’est-ce pas là un retour en arrière quant à tes conceptions sur la musique libre ?
C’est amusant parce qu’on me pose souvent ce genre de question. Je ne renie rien. Quand je faisais des cassettes dans les années 90, je les vendais à prix coûtant, guère plus. J’en écoulais entre 40 et 50 et je peux dire que je perdais de l’argent. Là, fixer le coût d’un album à trois euros est presque ridicule. Bon, c’est vrai qu’on peut donner plus si on veut mais je doute sincèrement que ça puisse arriver. Enfin, sait-on jamais… Non, c’est plus symbolique qu’autre chose. Je ne compte pas vraiment me faire du blé ainsi. Ce n’est pas le but. Après, on peut écouter l’album sans l’acheter pour autant. La qualité du streaming est bonne sur Bandcamp. Je reste dans un circuit alternatif. Et puis, c’est un essai plus ou moins participatif, un peu comme une souscription à l’ancienne. Va savoir… Si je récoltais 5.000 €, soit un peu plus de 1.500 contributions, il pourrait me venir à l’idée de produire en support CD le prochain album, ou un truc dans le genre. Bon, ça n’arrivera pas, mais c’est assez excitant. Pour le moment, l’objectif que je me fixe, c’est dix contributions ! Je ne suis pas gourmand, tu vois…
4. Pour revenir à “Quelques mois d’attente, certainement”, on entend des envolées mélodiques (cuivres, violons) et même un peu de chant sur certains morceaux ? Que se passe-t-il ?
J’ai toujours aimé les arrangements avec des instruments classiques. Mais, ça n’a jamais été une évidence pratique pour moi. Déjà parce que je suis un mauvais musicien et puis je ne connais pas forcément beaucoup de personnes qui pratiquent le tuba autour de moi. J’ai acquis un Juno-G il y a quelques années et les sons classiques, trempés dans des effets choisis, sont plutôt réussis. Je ne cherche pas la perfection du rendu, mais comme c’est fait, ça me convient. Et puis, j’aime assez mélanger les mélodies entre elles. Parfois, ça me donne de bonnes surprises… D’autres, ça va directement à la poubelle. Pour ce qui est du chant, je ne vois que “Tout Au Bout Du Chemin” comme exemple de tentative. C’est vrai que là j’ai essayé de chanter un peu sur ce morceau. Une fois la prise enregistrée, je ne me voyais plus la faire différemment. C’est maladroit, un peu bancal mais c’est moi, donc là aussi, ça me va. Tout dépend de l’ambiance du morceau en fait. Pour celui-ci, le chant était intéressant à tenter. Mais pour d’autres, je ne m’y risquerais pas…
5. On reviendra prochainement sur les détails assez techniques de l’enregistrement de l’album, ta manière de fonctionner, le studio Vendée, etc. Pour terminer cette interview, peut-on savoir quels sont tes nouveaux projets ? À quoi peut-on s’attendre les prochains mois, années ?
Concernant La Fresto, je vais laisser le temps me conduire au prochain album. Cependant, je termine actuellement une collaboration avec l’Américain Jackson Barton-Flower. Il m’a envoyé une dizaine de musiques que je bidouille à volonté et sur lesquelles je pose ma voix. C’est vraiment un featuring comme je les aime. J’espère que ce sera fini avant la fin de l’année. Je pensais pouvoir présenter le projet en février dernier mais je n’ai pas eu le temps de bien faire les choses. Je travaille également à la réédition des trois premiers albums. Je souhaite vraiment soigner ce projet, trouver à glisser des inédits ou des versions alternatives des morceaux déjà sortis. C’est là aussi beaucoup de travail.
J’ai commencé à bosser sur le prochain Crisding Bladading qui s’appelle “Psychomachia & Sodomita Libido”. Ce que je peux dire, c’est que ça va pas mal changer des précédents. On sera plus proche de “Despital Despitam” que de “Purpurine Solos”. L’album sera essentiellement basé sur des boucles sérielles, aléatoires et autres bizarreries.
Je suis également dans le mastering du troisième ep de Moduline. C’est prenant cette histoire car une oeuvre plus complète est programmée juste après et c’est assez étonnant. Mais, je ne veux pas en dire plus pour le moment. De toute manière, ça ne sortira pas avant 2011, voire 2012.
Enfin, je poursuis une collaboration avec Ange Veerlüger. Nous avons créé un projet qui avance au rythme de sessions de travail pas toujours simples à caler dans le temps. Mais, là aussi, c’est excitant parce qu’il y a déjà six morceaux et qu’on a hâte tous les deux d’aller jouer devant un public. J’espère sincèrement que cet album en préparation verra le jour en 2011. Normalement, oui…
